Food and Wine Experience: Flavours of Etna
Our Food and Wine Experience is more than a simple tasting — it’s an invitation to discover the soul of Etna through its vineyards and wines. Guided by local experts, you’ll walk among ancient vines rooted in fertile volcanic soil, learning how the unique microclimate and minerality shape every grape.
Standing tall as Europe’s highest and most active volcano, Mount Etna is not just a landmark — it’s a living force that has shaped landscapes and traditions for centuries. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2013, Etna’s slopes are a natural laboratory where eruptions and ancient lava flows have created an almost lunar environment, protected today by the Etna Natural Park since 1987.
From the Ionian Sea to lush vineyards, citrus groves, and dense forests of chestnut and oak, every corner of Etna tells a story of resilience and abundance. As you climb closer to the peak, the landscape changes, offering breathtaking views of Eastern Sicily.
The deep bond between Catania and Etna lives on not only in its views but also in its flavours. Our recipes — passed down by Sicilian grandmothers — remind us to treat what we harvest with care, preserving nature’s gifts in every dish we prepare.
Our Food & Wine Experience is for curious travellers who wish to rediscover true flavours, embraced by the volcano’s wild beauty. Each tasting pairs authentic local food with Etna DOC wines, because here, wine and food are inseparable — an essential expression of our land.
