E-Bike Adventure: Ride Etna’s Wild Side

An experience designed for true explorers: a scenic e-bike ride through the unique environment of an active volcano, crossing dense forests, ancient lava flows, lava caves and extinct craters. This adventure ends with a well-deserved outdoor lunch of local delicacies — timeless recipes that carry the rich flavours of Sicilian tradition.

We start from Milo on sturdy yet comfortable Giant E-MTBs, heading uphill into the Bosco della Cerrita in the Sant’Alfio area. We pass towering oaks (Cerri) and climb higher into Etna’s wild slopes, stopping to visit hidden lava caves, ancient flows and unusual “button” craters — unique remnants of the volcano’s restless past.

As we gain altitude, the landscape shifts dramatically. We ride through chestnut, oak and pine forests, reaching the only birch forest in the entire Mediterranean at about 1,700 meters. Its presence here, rooted in lava soil at such low latitudes, tells a story of nature’s resilience.

From here, the descent begins, winding through the Cubania pine forest back towards Milo. Before returning, we pause for a well-earned light lunch at Get Your Etna, on our panoramic terrace. Here, the flavours of the volcano meet recipes passed down by Sicilian grandmothers — a tribute to the deep bond between people, food and Etna.

Programme Highlights:
1st part: Meeting point at Etna Bike Tours in Milo for briefing and departure.
2nd part: 12 km uphill through chestnut woods, oaks, ancient lava flows.
3rd part: Reach the Sartorius Craters at 1,700 m, then descend through the Cubania forest.
4th part: Light lunch & wine tasting on our terrace with local specialities.

Included: Professional Giant E-MTB or MTB, certified guide (ITA/ENG), helmet, repair kit, GPS.
